Student life in Brasov
- The city offers multiple opportunities to spend free time in one of the most beautiful and developed regions in Romania. Brasov is known as an important cultural, artistic, tourist and sports centre.
- In our university there are two large campuses - 13 dormitories with 4,200 accommodation places (185 - 315 lei / month). Each campus has a canteen-restaurant. The sports grounds (football field with lighting, 4 gyms) are permanently open to students.
WE SUPPORT PERFORMANCE
- Transilvania University of Brașov offers students 10 types of scholarships. Students with outstanding academic results and those involved in the community life receive scholarships from the University - Excellence Scholarship of Transilvania University of Brasov (3,000 lei) and Student-Campus Internship Scholarship.
- High school valedictorians who become our students are rewarded and stimulated, valedictorians of our undergraduate programmes are also rewarded, students with material difficulties and outstanding performances are supported as well.
Involvement in research projects, technical assistance and technological development
- The faculty staff coordinates projects funded in Horizon 2020, the Life programme, CNCSIS (National Council for Scientific Research), the Ministry of Environment and Forests, the National Directorate of Forests - ROMSILVA, forestry schools and private companies;
- Projects funded by the European Forestry Institute (EFI), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the European Commission, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the World Bank, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Department of US Agriculture (USDA) and the EEA (South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme);
- The faculty is a member of IUFRO (International Union of Forest Research Organizations) and an active member of the Carpathian Ecoregion Initiative (CERI);
- The faculty is involved in several COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology) programmes.
