Study programmes

This programme is in the field of Engineering and consists of 2 years of study (120 ECTS credits). Students will acquire skills in management and entrepreneurship in silviculture, forest conservation, GIS, wildlife evaluation and conservation, conservation and use of forest genetic resources, etc. Graduates will be able to apply advanced methods of forest and game management.

 

Perspectives after graduation: Graduates will be able to work in production, education, and research, in forest districts, forest management planning and wood engineering companies, hunting and fishing associations, the management of protected areas, forest guards, and agencies for environmental conservation, etc.

This programme in the field of Engineering consists in 2 years of study (120 ECTS credits). Students will acquire advanced skills and competences in management and research related to the analysis, design, and development of sustainable technical systems that can be applied and/or implemented in the management and capitalization of forest ecosystem resources, products, and services. The study programme focuses on developing the necessary skills and competences for a career in research or top forest management. Most dissertations are conceived on topics of fundamental and applied research, as well as on issues of technological development. Initiation in research activities occurs within the framework of every studied course.

Perspectives after graduation: graduates will be able to develop careers in entrepreneurship, management, production, education, and research in forestry. Many of our graduates own businesses in wood engineering and processing, while others chose to work in top management positions at RNP Romsilva, as well as in subordinated forest districts. In the private sector, the employment opportunities relate to the management of trading companies specializing in wood engineering and processing, technological design and development in forestry, etc. A significant number of our graduates currently occupy such positions, while others work in similar professions in related fields: terrestrial measurements and cadastre, forest management planning, designing and building transportation networks, etc. Graduates of this study programme have the opportunity to develop a career in higher education and research in forestry, provided they apply for a doctoral degree.

This Master’s programme of academic studies in the field of Forestry is the first in Romania taught in English, and offers students the opportunity to interact with and learn from nationally and internationally renowned specialists. The duration of studies is 2 years, at the end of which students can earn 120 ECTS credits. Students will acquire skills in research and the management of resources and forest based systems. Graduates of this Master’s programme will be able to work in education, research, and forest management at national and international level.

Career perspectives: this Master’s programme trains specialists in research, education, and forest management. It focuses on the development of skills and competences necessary for leadership, management, and entrepreneurship in the field. Graduates of the programme will be able to work in top positions in Government agencies and NGOs, national and international organisations and companies, or choose a career in forest research.

This Master’s degree programme is a two-year interdisciplinary programme that provides academic education in the field of sustainable resource management with an emphasis on current bioeconomy issues. The duration of studies is 2 years, at the end of which students can earn 120 ECTS credits. MSc EF offers a new approach to forestry and nature management markets and it connects the increasing number of forest-related issues with a European dimension at international as well as national levels. The objective of the MSc EF programme is to educate professionals who have a thorough understanding of a sustainable forest bioeconomy as well as the European business culture. Students carry out the first year of studies at University of Eastern Finland and the second year of studies at Transilvania University of Brasov or at another university that is part of the Consortium.

Career perspectives: graduates of this Master’s programme are currently employed around the world by organisations such as forest and nature management agencies and governmental bodies, forest research institutions, forest enterprises in paper and pulp industries and saw milling, environmental NGO's.
